We are an 18th century farmhouse serving as a relaxed, affordable, and family-friendly venue. In addition to serving as an intimate gathering space, we also offer nightly accommodations for up to 8 guests.
At Ballenger Farm, we believe in cherishing small moments, whether that’s during a weekend getaway with family, an intimate wedding celebration, or an outdoor seasonal dinner party with new faces.
We quickly booked our first guests in the summer of 2018, and the requests for events started shortly thereafter. Less than a year later, we hosted our first wedding! It's been a beautiful journey so far and we look forward to continuing to share our space with all: bipoc and lgbtqia+ folks are always welcome here.
My family acquired the farm many years ago, and it’s been through quite the transformation since then. I contributed to renovation efforts when I was in middle school and learned to love it; fate brought me back to the farm during grad school and my admiration for the farm was instantly rekindled. I spent nearly a year renovating and decorating the space, and then we opened it up as a vacation rental.
My favorite hunting grounds are thrift stores and estate sales, and the holy grail of vintage clothing—Nostalgia, a store in Purcellville. And when you come to tour the farm you’ll probably want to pop over there afterward!
French toast all day- every day, and maple syrup on everything! Also, donuts are a whole meal.
I run the farm with my supportive parents, Mary Beth and Farmer Dave. My sweet daughter, Fiona, is also an enthusiastic helper, who likes to pick up chicks and play in the fairy house we built in 2022.
Our space includes a charming, colonial farmhouse, several streams and ponds, and blooming flowers nestled on a picturesque 12 acre farm. We are conveniently located near Purcellville, Virginia, giving you and your guests easy access to local shops and hotels.
The property is accessed by a private natural road, and you’ll instantly feel as if you’ve been transported to your own personal oasis. Once you arrive, you’ll be greeted by lush gardens, happily roaming animals, and a view of the historic stone house. The property is truly a magical space—you’ll feel it the instant you arrive!
